Communication challenges in a project

Conversations with specialists from various creative departments can be exceptionally complex and ambiguous. A lack of clarity in communication means difficulties in monitoring progress, understanding the scope of work, or even setting clear goals. On the one hand, subcontractors bring their expertise and specialized knowledge, but on the other, their specific industry terminology might be difficult for the client to understand.

Ambiguities in communication lead to numerous obstacles in project implementation. Frequent corrections and revisions, instead of speeding up the work, delay it, and every subsequent clarifying meeting becomes an attempt to break through a wall of misunderstandings. These recurring obstacles result in the loss of valuable time, which could be spent on more productive activities.

The relationship between the subcontractor and the client is like a bridge connecting the two sides of a project. When trust and mutual understanding, which are the foundations of this bridge, are compromised, the structure of collaboration starts to waver. Subcontractors might feel that their skills and experience are not properly appreciated, and their proposals and suggestions go unnoticed. On the other hand, you, as the client, might feel frustrated due to the lack of progress and get the impression that your guidelines and expectations are consistently overlooked or misunderstood.

Such discrepancies in perception and communication can lead to conflicts, slowing down project progress and discouraging both parties from further cooperation. As a result, a project that was supposed to be executed in harmony and understanding becomes a battleground of different visions and expectations.

What determines good communication during project implementation?

Good communication is the backbone of any successful implementation. Regardless of its scale or complexity, effective information exchange between the team and stakeholders is key to understanding needs, setting objectives, and effectively monitoring progress. For communication to be effective, it must meet certain criteria and be based on solid foundations.

  • Supporting the exchange of thoughts

In effective communication, it is important that it is not one-directional. It's worth promoting a dialogue in which people can bring their perspectives, experiences, and knowledge to the discussion. In doing so, we not only ensure that all voices are heard but also create an environment where innovations and creative solutions emerge naturally. This also provides the opportunity for quick problem-solving and refining ideas during their discussion.

  • Clarity and precision of the message

One of the fundamental elements of good communication is clarity and precision in conveying information. This means that every project participant knows exactly what is expected of them, what the goals are, and what tasks they need to perform. Avoiding ambiguities and double meanings reduces the risk of errors and misunderstandings. It's also worth remembering to adapt industry terminology to the knowledge of the audience, meaning to speak in layman's terms about technical matters.

  • Consistency of communication

Regular meetings, reports, or updates are essential to keep all parties of the project up-to-date with its progress. Choosing the right communication channel - whether it's email, face-to-face meetings, or project management platforms - is crucial to ensure that every message reaches the right people at the right time.

She has been collaborating with Grzegorz for nearly a decade, creating a place imbued with creativity and a passion for design. Her heart beats faster at the sight of thoughtful interior aesthetics, and her love for architecture is combined with a deep fascination with art history. For her, graphics isn't just a profession - drawing is her personal passion. Ania's talent has been recognized not only by colleagues in the industry but also on a broader scale - her projects have gained recognition in the field of industrial design, and some of them can be found in specialized industry books.

Ania's extraordinary ability to think outside the box, her unparalleled intuition, and creativity enable her to approach design challenges in a way that constantly amazes and brings innovative solutions.

Bartłomiej Ordon

Prestidigitator 3D

In his professional life, two activities dominate. As a graphic designer, he creates compositions and lighting with passion, especially in minimalist interiors. On the other hand, clear grid tables and team action planning constitute his daily tasks as a project manager. Studies in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice provided him with a solid foundation for creation. While studying there, he not only immersed himself in the world of buildings and spaces but also understood how theory can enrich practice in the field of graphics. Many of his achievements bring him satisfaction, but the first-degree distinction in the KOŁO competition for a project for Piotrkowska Street in Łódź holds special significance for him.

However, his life is not just about work. When he wishes to detach from the digital world, he indulges in the Brazilian martial art - capoeira. And in the evenings? He often immerses himself in the magic of sounds coming from his favorite vinyl records, savoring their deep resonance.

Epilog Creative Studio is a place where reality intertwines with imagination, and ideas become reality.
